Me and my godmother |
My Godmother: My God mother is my biggest inspiration. When I was eight years old I was a student in her class. She would always tell me how bright I was. She always encouraged me to reach for the stars. On the weekends she would pick me up and take me swimming, to the carnival, and various kid friendly places. Her taking me under her wing showed me that she truly cared for me. Even in my adult life she encourages me and gives me advice that get me through the day. She has a major impact on my life because her positive attitude, encouraging words, and bright smile, made me feel special and gave me so much hope. It's because of her that I want to be a positive role model, teacher, and mentor so that I can help other children who is in need of support that they lack at home.

My Sister: My sister is the oldest sibling of my mother's three children. When I was ten years old my younger sister passed away. My oldest sister would always come in my room and raise the blinds and tell me to get up and be strong. She gave me the strength to believe that no matter how challenging life can be, don't let it consume you. We always talk about our problems with each other. Since the death of our younger sister our relationship blossomed. I talk to her on a daily basis. The relationship that I have with her mean so much because it is something that me and my mother lack. My sister is like a mother to me as she always supported me financially. She has a major impact on my life because I knew that no matter what it was, I could count on her. She is a very dependable person who never let me down.

My best friend: Tasha and I have been childhood friends since the age of five. We grew up in the same neighborhood. I was a very shy kid and didn't have many playmates. Tasha would always come to my house and play with me. The unique thing about her is that she was very soft spoken like I was. She would always tell me that I was pretty and always wanted to play make-up. We would do everything together. We are inseparable. She is a person who I can confide in. I would always talk to her about my problems. She allowed me to express my feelings. Tasha had a major impact on my life because of her bright spirit and character. She is a very honest and trustworthy person and I'm so thankful that God allowed our paths to cross.

My mother (left) Cousin(Right) |
My mother: My mother brings me so much joy. As a child my mother was not always there; however she is my rock. My mother give me so much strength. I came from a single parent household with little structure. My mother inspired me to be a stronger individual. Seeing her raise me and my sisters help me understand the concept of a strong woman. No matter how challenging things were in our household, my mother always tried to make ends meet. My mother and I are not close now, but she always encouraged me to do what makes me happy. She was very supportive in every decisions that I made. After the death of my little sister my mother became very distant from me and my oldest sister. She would allow different children from our neighborhood to move in whenever they were encountering problems in their own home. After my sister and I grew older we realized that my mother never accepted the death of my little sister. She used the presence of other children to fill the void of her own child. Despite of the relationship I have with her, I love my mother unconditionally and wouldn't trade her for nothing in the world.

Left(my cousin Tiffany) Right (Me) |
My Cousin: Tiffany and I were both raised by my mother. Tiffany always brought so much laughter into my household. She would always tell silly jokes and stories to make everyone laugh. Her humor and character helped me understand the importance of being yourself. Whenever I was not sure about something, I would always ask Tiffany if she thought it was a good idea. There was never a dull moment growing up with her. She always helped me with chores and homework. When the two of us get together we are always laughing. Even though were are adults now, we both still have a crazy sense of humor. She really make me smile no matter how hectic things may seem. I couldn't have asked for a better cousin/sister. I love Tiffany more than she can ever imagine. Her personality inspired be to be a very open minded person and express how I feel.
